Mid-air course correction plus additional vertical and horizontal movement is a very powerful ability to have in a game where quick and precise platforming is rewarded. It's even secretly a triple jump -- grappling a platform or wall with your whip will reset your mid-air jump, allowing you to jump > jump > whip grapple > jump again!

However, players who deploy it as a pass-the-controller experience at their next party will almost certainly get a lot out of it. This is an excellent game to play with a few friends after a drink or two, with everyone taking a run and passing the controls on when they either die or complete a level. Healing three hearts is insanely good, and can save a poor run, especially near the end. This is a somewhat situational blessing, and can be less useful or even useless on a good run. Your mileage may vary.

’ Early Access journey is young, which means there are plenty of opportunities for the development team to optimise the Phantom Abyss Gameplay experience and fill in the blanks along the way.

Players can share Temple Codes for their failed runs allowing friends to attempt the same temple or share their Adventure Code which yields a playlist of temples that a player has attempted in the past. System Requirements

Despite all my efforts to line it up in the right way, it would only occasionally work. This meant almost instant death every time, which was especially frustrating when I was trying to outrun a Guardian. 

I’m confident that additional polish and content are coming down the pipeline, but I need more from the current state of the game.

Once the legendary relic at the bottom of each temple is found, the temple goes away forever and becomes the priceless trophy of the skilled adventurer.
